Cannon Hygiene’s innovative Imagine Range has won the prestigious Good Design Award
Good Design® is the world’s most prestigious, recognised and oldest Design Awards programme. It is organised annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
The trademarked awards were created in Chicago in 1950 by architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann Jr.
The Imagine range, winner of the Good Design Award, was commissioned byCannon Hygiene International. The Imagine Range was designed in cooperation with Grandesign, a leading Portuguese design company. It took its inspiration from the triangle in Cannon Hygiene’s logo. It also follows a growing style trend of using geometric shapes to form distinctive and sculptural ideas. From the initial concept, a range of geometric dispensers, tailored to the functionality of each product was developed. The result is a unified global range of high quality and innovative dispensers for all washroom services.
The GOOD DESIGN™ Logo is the world’s most recognised public certification for consumer design excellence. It is used by the world’s foremost corporations, manufacturers, and designers to identify their product’s design merit. In 2016 the Museum received submissions from several thousand of the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms from around the world.
Christian Narkiewicz, Museum President, The Chicago Athenaeum states “This year’s historic 66th Good Design program recognises the work of designers and manufacturers worldwide who have successfully undertaken the design challenge to produce the best and most outstanding design products across the globe.”
All winning products and graphics from GOOD DESIGN 2016 are now part of the Museum’s prestigious Permanent Design Collection.
